Lejalik wato, Ine Island, Arno

Size of parcel of land: 69.2 ar.

Original acquisition in: 1872 by the trader Basilio Teranova ("George Brown") of Messina, Sicily, Italy; purchased from Irooj Lekeman (Leikman) {3};

Transfers since original acquisition: 1890 to Hernsheim & Co; Shortly before his death Teranova transferred the property to Hernsheim & Co. who undertook the obligation to transport Terranova's six children to Sicily {3}; In 1886 the property was in the possession of Hernsheim & Co {35}. 1887 (21 December) the property rights are transferred to the Jaluit Gesellschaft. The Grundbuch entry of 1890 lists three buildings: a dwelling house, a copra house and a cookhouse {3}.

Original acquisition in: 1872 by the trader Basilio Teranova ("George Brown") of Messina, Sicily, Italy; purchased from Irooj Lekeman (Leikman) {3};

Transfers since original acquisition: 1882 (13 February) sold to Adolph Capelle & Co {3}; 1883 (13 November) by Deutsche Handels- und Plantagengesellschaft for $467.-(with other property on Majuro {3}, Mile {3} and Namorik {3}); at thetime of the transaction, the property comprised of "one dwelling house (wood and thatchroof), one copra house (built of native materials and three native houses." An attached sheet of paper liststhe four properties and list the Arno station as "Stat. [ion]Müller".{2, 3};

1887 (21 December) property tranferred to Jaluit Gesellschaft {4};

Transfers since original acquisition: 1890 to Hernsheim & Co; Shortly before his death Terranova transferred the property to Hernsheim & Co. who undertook the obligation to transport Terranova's six children to Sicily {3, 4}; In 1886 the property is listed as belonging to Hernsheim & Co. {35}; 1887 (21 December) property tranferred to Jaluit Gesellschaft. The Grundbuch entry of1890 lists "a few native houses" {4};

Size of parcel of land: 10 hectares. The property comprises thenorthern tip of Arno and consists of Alurin wato in the districtKilange; and Meneke, Lotut, Bogenterenai and Djui watos in thedistrict Malile.
