Erdland noted a variation of this story in which it is Kolorao's wife who is abducted by the ghost Kerang. Kolorao saves her in the same manner, but ultimately looses her when his father Letao gives her to his parallel cousins Lewoj and Laniej who are also in love with her. [back]
