Marshallese Handicrafts
A Basket of the late 1940s
by Dirk H.R. Spennemann

This item was acquired in the late 1940s (before 1951) on Kwajalein Atoll. It is a good example of the basket production for the handicraft market that developed after the end of World War II, catering for the needs of the US servicemen and civilian administrators and their families.
