Marshallese Handicrafts
Baskets with a lid (1992)

Marshallese baskets are one of the major forms of handicraft. These exist as open baskets and as baskets with a lid (this essay). Specialised forms are hand bags and purses. In addition to the baskets shown here, there are closed baskets from the 1940s 1991-92, 1999, and 2003
